[You should have said Dept. of Duh.-ed. I was being discrete. You?]

"Earlier this week, zoo officials said the moat's wall was at least 20 feet tall. Today, they said it was little over 12 feet."
What's a mere eight feet between friends? The zoo officials are probably the product of the local public school system.
In the Department of Duh Department, I heard a "pundit" this morning annouce that the situation in Pakistan was either going to devolve into chaos, or settle down.
In other words, it was either going to get worse, or it would get better.
Now, I'll grant this wasn't really formally tautologous, as it excluded the middle case of the trichotomy: things could stay exactly as they are, getting neither worse nor better, balanced like an edge-on coin. I've begun to think all the news nets need someone on each show to catch these thigns and say "Duh! Y'think?"
